I killed the boy scout

Being a boy scout isn’t a good thing when packing. I still remember “Be Prepared” from my Tenderfoot days at Harlan Elementary school.

There are so many “what if’s” with this project that the list of things to bring started to exceed the capacity of my SUV. After a stern discussion with myself I decided that the boy scout in me had to meet an untimely death or I was going to spend the first two days unpacking.

 Thus, my motto for this project is now “Be Resourceful”. I’ve got two suit cases and three boxes (all of which I can actually lift). We have put a lot into prepping for this and no amount of laptop batteries or extra pairs of underwear are going to help that much in the long run. We’re ready…

Moving In…

I feel like the week before I went to Millersville College when I was trying to figure out what I was taking, who I would meet, how I would overcome the apprehension of the unknown. How will I meet people? Who will I break bread with? Then I laugh. I AM 47 YEARS OLD! I am going to be with funny, intelligent, friendly, open-hearted peers with whom I am sure I will forge close and lasting relationships. Suddenly, I really cannot wait to get to Garden Spot Village. How very fortunate I am to have this opportunity.
